Does World Mean All the World If YOU Are in the World?
You
say that "world" in the Bible (a la John 3:16) means every person in the world? If so, then here is what we can discern of YOU:
Matt
18:7 Woe unto the world because of offences!
Since
you are of the world, WOE unto you!
Luke
16:8 And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for
the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of
light.
In
this verse, the children of THIS WORLD are distinct from the children of light. So we can discern that you are a child of
THIS WORLD.
John
7:7 The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that
the works thereof are evil.
Here
we see where you (who are of this WORLD) hate Jesus.
John
8:23 And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of
this world; I am not of this world.
You
are from BENEATH, since you are of this world.
John
12:31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be
cast out.
Here
we find that Satan is your prince.
John
14:17 [Even] the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it
seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you,
and shall be in you.
This
is a great one. You (who are of this world)
cannot receive Christ. But WE know him!
John
14:19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me:
because I live, ye shall live also.
Alas,
you cannot see him. But we can!
John
15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before [it hated] you.
Why
do you hate us? Because you admit that
you are in the world!
John
15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are
not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world
hateth you.
God
tells us that we are NOT of the world!
I thought world means world?
John
16:20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the
world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned
into joy.
You
rejoice at Christ’s crucifixion, but we lament. But our sorrow will be turned to JOY!
John
17:6 I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the
world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.
Here
Jesus has manifested himself to those who God gave him OUT of the world. Not
looking good for you!
Rev
13:3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
And
here is the worst part, all the world wonders after the beast! And worships the beast! Again, not looking good for you!
And
Jesus says he does not even pray for you.
John
17:9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast
given me; for they are thine.
Does
world mean all the world? I would think
you had better hope not.
